Budding entrepreneurs still have the chance to attend the two remaining Lent Term Business Surgeries run by Cambridge Enterprise and CUTEC (Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club).

The free surgeries are confidential 40-minute sessions giving advice from leading experts to support commercialisation of research.

During the year, Cambridge Enterprise and CUTEC run a series of surgeries covering topics vital in helping commercialise technologies and making business ideas work.

Each surgery is given by an expert adviser (normally local professional service providers such as law firms, patent agents, marketing specialists, and venture capitalists) and provides free and confidential advice on a one-to-one basis.

The remaining surgeries for Lent term are: March 17 - Patents and IP with Kilburn & Strode, and March 24 - early stage funding and business planning with Harrogate Partners.

The sessions are suitable for university members who have ideas for commercialising their research, business ideas for start-ups, or those who have recently started businesses.

Surgeries take place on Wednesday afternoons at Cambridge Enterprise, William Gates Building, JJ Thomson Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 0FD.

Anyone interested in attending either remaining surgery is advised to book early, as places are limited. To secure a session, email development@cutec.org, stating your departmental affiliation, the surgery (or surgeries) that you're interested in attending, the preferred timeslot (2pm, 2.45pm, 3.30pm, 4.15pm) and the nature of your enquiry.

Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC) brings together entrepreneurial talent and technically gifted individuals through high profile conferences, interactive workshops and campaigns run in conjunction with the entrepreneurial community. The focal event of the CUTEC calendar is the Technology Ventures Conference (TVC), which consistently attracts world-class speakers discussing the latest technology trends and startup companies showcasing their newest innovations. In 2009, the TVC brought together a global audience of investors, entrepreneurs, and academics representing 121 companies and 17 universities.
