Cambridge researchers have the chance to meet representatives from major funding organisations today at a Research Funding Roadshow being held at the University Centre.
The event aims to provide information on how funding schemes work and is also an opportunity for sponsors and researchers to find out more about each other’s work in an informal and relaxed setting.
During the day, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) will each run a workshop to provide advice specific to their funding schemes.
Research Services Division (RSD), which is responsible for organising the Roadshow, will also be presenting ‘top tips’ on applying for funding at the end of each workshop.
RSD supports the University's research activities by working in partnership with academics to secure, manage and increase funding from a wide range of external organisations at regional, national and international levels.
Edna Murphy, Acting Director at RSD, commented: “We hope that the Roadshow will provide a stimulating forum for research staff to interact with the University’s major research sponsors and find out more about their funding schemes.”
The Research Funding Roadshow is being held at the University Centre, Granta Place, Mill Lane, Cambridge. University academics at all stages of their research are invited to drop in any time between 11am – 3pm.
The ESRC workshop runs from 11.30am-12.15pm. The EPSRC workshop will take place between 1.30pm-2.15pm.
The full list of research sponsors attending the event can be found on the RSD website.
