Members of the public are invited to bring their archaeological finds along to the University of Cambridge's Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology this weekend.

The 'Finds Identification' session will take place tomorrow, Saturday 13 November from 2-4.30pm at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge.

Chris Montague, Finds Liaison Officer for Cambridgeshire and Anne Taylor, Curatorial Assistant for Archaeology, will be available to identify and record any discoveries. Participants are encouraged to take a note where they found the item to help with this process.

Accompanying the session will be a small display of local objects found recently, from a tiny arrowhead to a beautiful Roman silver ring. There will be a 'Touch Table' too, with an opportunity to handle real objects from the past.

This session is an extension of the usual Museum Enquiry Service, which takes place during the Museum’s normal opening hours of 2-4.30pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Members of the public may leave objects at the front desk for identification and the Museum will endeavour to provide a brief report identifying the object, its date and origin as soon as possible.

Chris Montague and Anne Taylor can be contacted on 01223 717573/07990 803551 and 01223 333509 respectively.
