Literary critic Sir Frank Kermode will be remembered in a memorial service at King’s College Chapel tomorrow.

Once described as “the best living reader of Shakespeare”, and regarded by many as the finest critic of his generation, Sir Frank was elected a Fellow of King’s in 1974, and became King Edward VII Professor of English Literature at Cambridge University. He remained a Fellow until 1986, and was an Honorary Fellow until his death last year.

His books include ‘The Genesis of Secrecy’, ‘The Classic’, ‘The Art of Telling’, ‘Forms of Attention’, ‘An Appetite for Poetry’ and ‘The Sense of An Ending’. A memoir, ‘Not Entitled’, was published in 1997.

The service, on Saturday 7th May, begins at 2.15pm. All are welcome.
