Professor Bob Hepple, QC, Emeritus Professor of Law and former Master of Clare College, was among several members of the University of Cambridge to be recognised in the New Year’s Honours List.

Professor Hepple received a Knighthood in recognition of his services to legal studies. He is a fellow of the British Academy, has produced leading work in labour employment law, social rights, discrimination and equality. He is well known for his work in South Africa from where he fled in 1963 after being detained without trial for anti-apartheid activities.

Other University members to be honoured include Professor Sandra Dawson, Director of the Judge Institute for Management Studies and Master of Sidney Sussex, who was made a Dame in recognition of her services to higher education and management research.
