The new Master of Trinity College, Cambridge will be the Astronomer Royal Professor Sir Martin Rees, Royal Society Research Professor at the University of Cambridge. He succeeds the distinguished economist and Nobel Laureate Professor Amartya Sen, who will retire from office on 14 January 2004.
