University of Cambridge students are invited to bring their lives to film as part
of a new project for the 800th anniversary celebrations.

My Cam is a new media competition in which students are invited to make their own 90 second film about any aspect of their lives at Cambridge. The competition is open to all Cambridge students, both under- and post-graduate, and will run until Monday, 16 November.

A selection of shortlisted films will be featured on the University’s website and YouTube channel. A panel of industry experts will judge the shortlisted films, and the creators of the three best films will be awarded a cash prize. The winners will be announced in late November.

“Who better to communicate what makes Cambridge special than its students?” said Geoff Morris, Head of the 800th Anniversary Year. “We can’t wait to see the creative ideas they come up with.”

Students may film any facet of their lives at Cambridge. This could range from a portrait of a colourful Cambridge character to their area of study, to aspects of their social lives.

If you are a Cambridge student and interested in entering the competition, please visit the My Cam webpage to find out more and to download an application package
