Mark de Rond from the University of Cambridge's Judge Business School is this year's recipient of the Academy of Management's George R. Terry Book Award.

The prize is awarded to the book deemed by the Academy to have made the most outstanding contribution to the advancement of management knowledge in the past two years.

Dr de Rond received it for his book 'Strategic Alliances as Social Facts: Business, Biotechnology, and Intellectual History', published by Cambridge University Press.

Dr de Rond said: "It is a real privilege to have been given the George R. Terry Award for this book, not least because the writing process was far from straightforward. In recognising the book, the Academy is clearly welcoming of interdisciplinarity, epistemological pluralism, even prose that reflects personality."
