Cambridge and Harvard universities have linked up to offer a reciprocal one year Law School exchange.

This is the first year of the programme and is starting with two students, Katherine Apps from New Hall College, who is British; and Eyitayo St. Matthew-Daniel from Girton College, who is Nigerian; in return Harvard is sending four JD students to Cambridge. Up to six students will participate in the exchange over the coming years.

The continuing globalisation of law and its clients has led to increased demand for lawyers with international experience and understanding. In recognition of this, two leading law firms have come together with two of the best law schools in the world to support an innovative scheme, which will help develop internationally-minded law students.

McDermott Will & Emery are sponsoring one of the Cambridge students and Baker & McKenzie are sponsoring the other. Both students are going from Cambridge to Harvard Law School.

The scholarships are worth approximately £25,000, which covers tuition fees and maintenance, and will be offered to the two students who come top in their final law exams and have been admitted to the Harvard LLM (Master of Laws).
