Dr Hans Blix, Chairman of the International Commission on Weapons of Mass Destruction was in Cambridge this week to deliver the Hersch Lauterpacht Memorial Lectures at the Faculty of Law.

These lectures are given annually by an eminent practitioner or academic in the field of international law. Dr Blix's topic was "The United Nations and Iraq - reflections on the use of force, on international inspections and on UN reform".

The Lauterpacht Research Centre for International Law is part of the Faculty of Law at the University of Cambridge and is actively involved in the practical development and application of international law.

A revised and expanded version of the lectures is due to be published in the Hersch Lauterpacht Memorial Lectures Series by Cambridge University Press.
