An initiative to encourage entrepreneurial cooperation and collaboration between Britain and China will be launched in Cambridge this week.

The Opening Ceremony of the 2011 UK High-Level Entrepreneurial Challenge, initiated and supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, will take place at the Moller Centre, Churchill College on Tuesday 22 March.

A series of distinguished speakers at the launch will include University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Ian White, Minister Counsellor Xiaogang Tian from the Chinese Embassy, Councillor Sheila Stuart, the Mayor of Cambridge and Sir David Wallace, Master of Churchill College.

The preliminary and semi-final rounds of the Challenge are to be held both in China and Britain, followed by the final competition in London in October this year.

The event is being hosted by one of the University’s largest student societies, The Cambridge University Chinese Students and Scholars Association.

Tuesday’s event is free to the public, starting at 3pm and will be followed by a wine and canapé reception. To register email sponsorship@cssacam.org by 11am on Monday 21 March.
