Visitors to the ADC Theatre have the chance to see some of the UK’s finest comic talent in the making as Cambridge Footlights launch their 2009 tour – Wishful Thinking – this week.

The tour previews at the ADC Theatre from June 9-20, before presenting at the Edinburgh Fringe and then at venues around the UK in September.

From monologue to many-logue, sketches to stories, there should be something to tickle everyone’s funny bone.

The show has been written and devised by the cast and director Rory Mullarkey around a general theme - "deceptions and delusions".

Previous tours have launched the careers of a number of now high-profile comedians, most recently Joe Thomas, who performed in the2006 national tour and now co-stars on hit Channel 4 comedy, 'The Inbetweeners'. Other Footlights alumni include Sasha Baron Cohen, Stephen Fry, Germaine Greer, the Monty Python team, and Mitchell & Webb.

The ADC’s Stuart Cuthbertson said: “This year it's going to be better than ever. So come join us. Because this is where it all begins”.

Prices for the shows range from £8/£6 Monday –Thursday and £9/£7 on Friday – Saturday. For full details of the ADC’s summer season, which runs until July 26, visit www.adc theatre.com
