The University was presented with an award for its crime-cutting Secured Car Park Scheme at a special ceremony at the Downing Site on Monday.

The University was given the Secured By Design award in recognition of its achievements in increasing security and reducing crime at various car parks. The award is administered by the Automobile Association and strongly supported by the police.

Tony Palmer, Assistant Treasurer for the University, commented: "We welcome this award in recognition of our efforts to improve security and reduce crime, and the fear of crime, in our car parks".
