The University of Cambridge team that created the Centre for Mathematical Sciences were jubilant today after their extraordinary win at last night’s British Construction Industry Awards. Against fierce competition from across the UK, Cambridge walked off with the Major Projects Prize.

The winning design by Edward Cullinan Architects was the end of a brilliant collaboration between the University’s Estates department and the Maths Faculty who raised the £58 million cost in three phases.

The Award recognises the highest standards of procurement, design and delivery but they also consider other vital features a project: good all round quality construction delivered safely, on time and to budget.
