There was an excited buzz around Judge Business School on the evening of November 17 as students, alumni and staff filled the lecture theatre ready for the Cambridge Leadership Seminar given by Ian Davis, Worldwide Managing Director, McKinsey and Company.

The Cambridge Leadership Seminars are a flagship distinguished speaker series created exclusively for the Cambridge MBA. The magic of Cambridge Leadership Seminars exists in the personal interaction between speakers of the very highest calibre and the diverse group of exceptional MBA students, who are themselves future leaders in business and society.

Mr Davis gave a unique insight into “What is on the minds of CEOs today”, sharing his knowledge and experience with a captive audience. He commented on issues surrounding today’s business world, such how businesses are now more concerned with the risks involved in growth, compared to 20 years ago, globalisation, the cultural effects that technology has on business, employees and customers and a view on the importance of both hard and soft skills to business leaders of today.

Mr Davis held an open Q&A session after his lecture and joined a reception where students where able to continue these discussions. It was agreed by the guests that the evening was unique opportunity to learn directly from a global business leader and a highlight of the Cambridge experience.
