BBC Radio 4 is to record one of its popular ’‘Great Debates’ from The Queen’s Building Auditorium at Emmanuel College on Monday 28 November from 7.00pm.

This Great Debate re-stages a very public clash between two heavyweights of the Reformation: Desiderius Erasmus and Martin Luther. Members of the audience will join Dr Richard Rex and Dr David Bagchi as they debate the nature of free will. Are we ever totally free to choose our own actions? If not, can we really be held to account?

The programme is moderated by Allan Little, the BBC Paris correspondent.

Tickets to be a part of the audience can be obtained free by calling the BBC Ticket Hotline on 0161 244 3268. Doors open at 6.30pm.

The entrance to Emmanuel College is via the Porters’ Lodge in St. Andrews Street.
