The University Research Office works with external organisations to develop and maximise research outcomes for long-term mutual benefit. In addition, many departments have dedicated Business Development Officers, Research Facilitators and Knowledge Transfer Facilitators to offer further assistance and to external organisations.

Cambridge Enterprise supports the commercialisation of technology arising from the University’s research. It also provides Consultancy Services for University staff wishing to provide expert advice to private and public sector organisations, and access to capital and expertise via Cambridge Enterprise Seed Funds.

ideaSpace is a community of people in Cambridge starting high impact new ventures. ideaSpace members are creating new business models which have the potential to benefit millions of people within a few years of start-up.

IfM Education and Consultancy Services (IfM ECS) provides a rapid dissemination route for new ideas and approaches developed by researchers at the Institute for Manufacturing. Industrial practitioners, with many years of senior management experience, engage directly with industry, governments and other agencies via consultancy, executive education and events.
