Although the weather on Saturday 5 July wasn’t brilliant, Fun Lab at the Big Weekend certainly lived up to its name!

The Public Engagement team, Sedgwick Museum, Botanic Garden, University Museum of Zoology and our friends from Physical Education, Napp Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge Science Centre and the MRC Human Nutrition Research unit provided hours of wonderful activities for everyone.

We investigated our finger prints and our DNA, saw how tricky water is and the speed of our reactions. We sampled different fruits, made 300 smoothies, 250 fossils, 250 mini-gardens and 300 brain hats.

"Everything was very good, it was great for our children and everyone was so helpful and kind."
“We enjoyed fossil making so much last year, we came back specially this year for it!”

This summer more family fun is on offer. Twenty Museums in Cambridge and beyond are opening their doors from Thursday 24 July to Wednesday 3 September providing a packed programme of creative activities, events and trails for ‘Summer at the Museums’.
