[casi-analysis] Depleted Uranium and the MoD

[ This message has been sent to you via the CASI-analysis mailing list ]

DU is nothing to worry about, says the MoD. Except when it's our own
soldiers...

http://www.operations.mod.uk/telic/

'Three armoured vehicles, badly damaged in what are believed to have
been "friendly fire" incidents during Operation Telic have been returned
to the UK. They have been taken to the Army depot at Ashchurch in
Gloucestershire for detailed examination and will then be disposed of
safely. Two of the vehicles, a Challenger 2 and a Scimitar, may have low
levels of depleted uranium contamination. The transportation and storage
of the vehicles is therefore being handled with all appropriate
safeguards.'
