Listen to lectures by some of the UK’s premier scientists without leaving your home.

Cambridge University Science Productions, an initiative based at the University of Cambridge, is webcasting the BA Festival of Science 2006 from the University of East Anglia in Norwich.

The webcasts feature serious scientific debates, including a scientific controversies slot. But there is also plenty of lighter programming: "Fun Science" included foam explosions, turning the juice of a kiwi pink, and asking whether you would trust your weight to a piece of paper.

The BA Festival of Science is taking place in Norwich until 9 September, bringing together over 300 of the UK's top scientists and engineers, including Cambridge academics, to discuss the latest developments in science with the public.

The live webcast is available during UK day time, and runs in parallel with the BA Festival itself. A repeat of the day's program is available in the evenings, and archives are being made available throughout the week. Last year's BA festival, as well content from Cambridge's own science festival, is also available on the site.

The theme of the Festival this year is 'People, science and society', with the presidential address exploring the economic impact of climate change and the 'human' context of scientific development. Other topics range from popular psychology (including a scientific approach to helping people look on the bright side!) to nutrigenomics and mammoth hunting in Norfolk.
