First of its kind Cambridge Showcase demonstrates commitment to addressing climate and biodiversity crises

More than 140 Cambridge researchers will share their efforts to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises at the inaugural Cambridge Climate & Nature Research Showcase on Friday.

A University of Cambridge academic has been appointed to a new United Nations panel on Artificial Intelligence.

Seven Cambridge researchers have been appointed Fellows of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences. The inaugural cohort of 100 Fellows brings together the UK’s strongest mathematicians across academia, education, business, industry, and government to help solve some of the UK’s biggest challenges.

•    £36 million investment to increase the AI Research Resource supercomputing capacity at Cambridge sixfold by spring 2026.
•   More cutting-edge AI chips will be available free of charge to UK researchers and start-ups.
•   The supercomputer is already helping to deliver breakthroughs in areas like healthcare and environmental modelling.

The University has been selected as the lead delivery partner for the British Academy’s new East of England Early Career Researcher Network (ECRN) cluster. Cambridge will work closely with the other delivery partners, Anglia Ruskin University and the University of East Anglia, to support early career researchers in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences across the region.

The Minister for AI and Digital Government, Feryal Clark MP, visited the University of Cambridge on the day the Government announced their new AI Action Plan.  

Ten outstanding Cambridge researchers have been elected as Fellows of the Royal Society, the UK’s national academy of sciences and the oldest science academy in continuous existence.
