The University is currently undertaking works to implement a signal-controlled pedestrian and cycle crossing of Madingley Road, from Madingley Rise to JJ Thomson Avenue.  This will facilitate better connections between the Madingley Rise Site (and onwards connections to Storey’s Way and Huntingdon Road) with the West Cambridge Site (and onto the Coton footpath).
The need for a crossing in this location is triggered by the West Cambridge Section 106 planning obligations.  The crossing design has been agreed in principle with the County Council as Highways Authority, and following a safety audit and approvals process the junction implementation will begin. Works are expected to commence in February 2015 and take approximately 4 months to complete.
