Information for students holding an offer at a Cambridge College

If you are holding a conditional offer of a place at a Cambridge College, and have the grades required, congratulations! You don't need to do anything. Your College will already have been told your A-level results, and your place is automatically confirmed. You will receive a letter from the College and a letter from UCAS within a few days. Please do not phone the College at this busy time.

If you have not quite met the offer then don't panic. Depending on the number of students who have made their offers, there may be a few places available. Please be patient for a little longer - your College will contact you as soon as possible.

If your grades are substantially lower than those required by your offer, hopefully you will have made the grades for your insurance offer. Unless there are special circumstances to consider, the College will reject you through UCAS so that you can take up your insurance place or enter Clearing.

Information on Clearing:
The University of Cambridge does not have places through the national clearing scheme and new applications for entry in October 2001 are not considered at this stage.

There are some places for the BA in Educational Studies at Homerton College available through clearing - for further information, visit their website - www.homerton.cam.ac.uk

Applying for 2002:

The Cambridge Colleges welcome post A-level applications. You may be trying to make the difficult decision as to whether to take a gap year and apply to Cambridge as a post A-level applicant for 2002. A number of college open days will be held at the University of Cambridge in September 2001.

For further information on open days, please visit our Open Days web site - www.cam.ac.uk/cambuniv/ugprospectus/applying/opendays.html
