A student from Sidney Sussex College was admitted to Addenbrooke's Hospital on Wednesday (17th November 1999) where he was being treated for the symptoms of meningococcal septicaemia.

A student from Sidney Sussex College was admitted to Addenbrooke's Hospital on Wednesday (17th November 1999) where he was being treated for the symptoms of meningococcal septicaemia.

The second year, male, Natural Sciences student was released from hospital on Monday afternoon.

The student lives out of College and, as is standard practice in these cases, his close personal contacts were identified, contacted and treated with antibiotics. Other students have been given information about the signs and symptoms to look out for.
