In an effort to make University students and staff aware of the signs of meningitis, the Colleges have training videos and information packages. These include posters and leaflets produced by the National Meningitis Trust and the Health Education Authority specifically aimed at university students.

Meningitis training sessions are held for University First Aiders and the Cambridge University Students' Union (CUSU) distribute information to students in the CUSU Handbook and freshers' welfare packs.

If a student does contract meningitis, guidelines produced by the University's Meningitis Working Party and distributed to all Departmental Administrators and Colleges, are put into action.

Information for staff on the management guidelines and about dealing with meningitis are available on the Web.
