A new theory suggests that the two sexes differ in the mind, in two fundamental ways: females, on average, tend to be slightly more focused on empathy, and males, on average, tend to be slightly more focused on systems. Professor Simon Baron-Cohen, Director, Autism Research Centre at the University of Cambridge, will launch the ‘Spotlight on Science’ lecture series on Friday, March 12 2004 at the Babbage Lecture Theatre at the University of Cambridge with his talk on ‘The Essential Difference: men, women and the extreme male brain’.

The University Careers Service hosted their fourth annual Cam Connect careers event for local employers at the Judge Institute yesterday. This event has grown in popularity amongst local employers and Cambridge students deciding to stay and work in our region: a healthy indicator of the vibrant economy in and around Cambridge. Eighteen organisations attended to discuss their vacation and permanent opportunities with over 300 Cambridge University first degree, postgraduate and MBA students who visited over the three hours.
