Please SELF-ISOLATE immediately.

This means that the pooled screening test you contributed a swab to was POSITIVE for SARS-CoV-2. It is therefore very likely that you or somebody else in your testing pool has SARS-CoV-2 infection.

PLEASE SELF-ISOLATE IMMEDIATELY. This is very important to help prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2 infection to others. Further advice on self-isolation can be found at:

Your College will be informed of your pooled screening test result, and PROVIDE SUPPORT.

Other members of your HOUSEHOLD should also self-isolate, whether OR NOT they contributed a swab or are participating in the asymptomatic screening programme. Further advice on household isolation can be found at:

IF members of another household or households contributed swabs to your positive pooled screening test, THEY AND THEIR HOUSEHOLDS should also self-isolate, and will be contacted directly.

Everybody who contributed a swab to your positive pooled screening test will be offered an individual confirmatory test. This will allow us to confirm the positive pooled screening test result, work out who is infected, and determine how long you will need to remain in self-isolation.

YOU WILL THEREFORE NOW BE BOOKED FOR AN INDIVIDUAL CONFIRMATORY TEST at the University testing pod. Details of your appointment will be sent to your email address.

THE EARLIEST APPOINTMENTS WILL BE AT 10:30AM on the same day you received your positive pooled screening test result. It is absolutely essential you attend, so PLEASE CHECK YOUR EMAILS REGULARLY!

Further information about the University testing pod at the Dyson Building (Department of Engineering), and what to expect when you get your test, can be found at:

The result of your individual confirmatory test, and further guidance on the duration of self-isolation, will be sent by text message, or communicated by your College. Please contact your College, or email us at: if you have not received your result by 3PM the day after the test.

In a small number of scenarios, a second round of individual tests will be required. In that case, all necessary information will be provided by text message, email or telephone.

Please note that you SHOULD NOT report your positive pooled screening test result using the University’s COVID-19 monitoring form.

Please DO however use the form to report that you are self-isolating, and update the form if your individual confirmatory test is positive. This will allow us to track cases of COVID-19 at the University, and alert contacts at risk of infection:
