How the University works

The Pro-Vice-Chancellors

The Regent House has authorised the appointment of up to five Pro-Vice-Chancellors, who are appointed by the Council on the recommendation of a Nominating Committee and after consultation with the General Board. No-one may hold office as a Pro-Vice-Chancellor for more than six years in total.

The precise duties of the Pro-Vice-Chancellors, unless otherwise prescribed by Statute or Ordinance, are determined by the Vice-Chancellor and the Council.

The particular areas of responsibility of the current Pro-Vice-Chancellors are:

  • Planning and Resources
  • Research
  • Education
  • International Strategy
  • Institutional Affairs
