IT Services
General computing facilities are provided by the Colleges, facilities which need to be provided on a University-wide basis are the responsibility of the Computing Service, and Departments provide subject-specific facilities.
Computing Service
- New students - getting started: information about computing facilities, email accounts etc
- Anti-virus downloads - free of charge
- Desktop Services (Managed Cluster Service) - available to all students. Provide networked PCs (Windows/Linux) and Apple Macintosh computers running a wide range of software, together with printers and scanners and a central filestore.

- Email - overview
- Email and phone search - also linked to from under the search box at the top right of page
- Hermes Webmail service
- Hardware Support - advice on purchasing, provides maintenance and repairs
- IT courses - free of charge. Subjects, venues, timetables and booking
- Passwords - changing, choosing, account maintenance
- Printing, audiovisual and media services - printing, binding, scanning, photography and illustration
Miscellaneous
- Forum [Raven-authenticated] is a discussion service that has been created to replace the Cambridge University Newsgroups. Explanatory notes can be found here.
- Help Desks and contact information for computing facilities
- IT Purchasing Group - IT purchase agreements for Cambridge staff and students
- Access to education discount at Apple online store (from within cam.ac.uk)
