Schools programmes at the Festival
The Science Festival offers a range of programmes and activities exclusively to schools, all designed to enrich the curriculum and inspire pupils into the further study of science, and think about the world they live in.

Schools Masterclasses

Schools attend the Festival Masterclasses

7 – 9 March
The Schools Masterclasses invite students, aged 14-16, to come to Cambridge for a day of talks, hands on activities and tours designed to enrich the science curriculum. This experience gives the students the opportunity to experience life at a higher education institution and an insight into scientific study at university.

Schools Zone

Schools Zone, Cambridge Science Festival

24 March
The Schools Zone invites teams of up to eight students from secondary schools and sixth form colleges in the region are invited to bring a display of science, technology, engineering or maths projects they have worked on in lessons or in science clubs, to show to an audience of the general public and University outreach officers.

Schools Hubs

Schools Hub activities at the Festival

1 and 6 March
Schools Hubs are a new initiative in which county secondary schools host a range of activities for schools in their local area. The majority are for all key stages.

Schools Roadshow

Schools Roadshow, Cambridge Science Festival

12 – 16 March
The Schools Roadshow offers pupils from all key stages at Cambridgeshire schools the chance to find out more about the exciting world of science. Lecture topics include gurgling guts, the meaning of life and future technologies.
