STEM Team East is an Educational Charity working with schools and colleges in Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. We aim to inspire, encourage and help young people progress in STEM and help raise the scientific literacy and appreciation of STEM among our school population.

We manage a number of national schemes for Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Essex and Suffolk and run annual science fairs and competitions. We have been contracted by STEMNET to be the STEMPoint for Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire and manage the STEM Ambassador Programme for these counties.

At this year's Cambridge Science Festival, STEM Team East (formerly STEM TEAM Cambridgeshire) will introduce our audience to many spinning and orbiting phenomena, explain the physics of each and their importance and impact on the world and on us; our health, safety, communication, enjoyment and experience. Ranging from rotations of the earth, the solar system and orbits, satellites and communications, rockets and rolling, keeping water in a bucket, precessing protons and MRI scans, centrifuge and gyroscopes, pirouettes and spinning tunnels, vortices, black hole theory and yo-yos.
