About the Festival

The Cambridge Science Festival is co-ordinated by the Public Engagement team at the University of Cambridge who also run other free public events throughout the year.

The 2011 Cambridge Science Festival was our most successful yet with over 35,000 people attending nearly 180 events over the fortnight. The Cambridge Science Festival is hosted in working departments and is run by staff and student volunteers who are all trying to give you the best experience possible, as well as to keep the events free and open to all. It continues to be the largest free Science Festival in the UK and attracts a wide audience of all ages from the local area and beyond, including many international visitors.
