The NIHR/ Wellcome Trust Clinical Investigation Ward at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is involved in many research studies using state of the art endoscopy equipment. We would like to share with you the experience of being a nurse endoscopist. Endoscopy is generally used as a diagnostic tool to look inside your body. At the same time that engineers were busy producing new tiny cool mobile phones that fit in your pocket, in medicine they have refined the art of endoscopy so we have ultrathin scopes to make the process easier for our patients. Come and try out our ultrathin gastroscope on a carton model – it’s a bit like playing on a games console! You could find out some interesting facts about your own digestive tract.
