Wherever possible, researchers should be encouraged to take part in local decision-making processes, for example by inclusion in relevant departmental committees. Institutions should provide a forum for researchers to raise issues.
Where appropriate, researchers should be included at University level, for example as representatives in working groups and staff consultation exercises.
