Do Walls have Ears? No, but the people who build them do.

Do Walls have Ears? No, but the people who build them do.

Local residents have the chance to join University members to discuss the future of buildings at the University with the people responsible for constructing and maintaining them.

Everyone is welcome to attend a series of 45 minute talks at the Mill Lane Lecture Rooms today (Wednesday 27 September) on various aspects of building and planning or to simply drop in at anytime between 10am and 3pm to look at displays and talk to the people involved.

The displays will demonstrate the many different facets of Estate Management and Building Service (EMBS) who is hosting the event.

This will be your chance to see the shape of things to come at West Cambridge, the development of the Sidgwick Site, the issues on maintenance and refurbishment and how car parking and space management will be handled in the future. There will be computer displays, models and much more.

EMBS has the challenging task of providing the University with new facilities while managing and maintaining the existing ones. Not forgetting the grounds and trees on the University Estate that are tenderly looked after by the Garden Service.

The day is intended to be informative but informal and enjoyable - and there will be plenty of refreshments on hand.

There is no need to book but if you require more information please contact Chris Norman on 01223 337787 or email: cn219@admin.cam.ac.uk
