The opportunities that creative thinking can bring and how these can be exploited will be discussed this Wednesday at Pembroke College.

This year’s BT Annual lecture, entitled “Unleashing the power of creativity”, will be delivered by BT’s Head of Strategic University Research.

Jeff Patmore will look at how BT, the UK’s largest investor in Information and Communication Technology, is tackling the problem of turning creative thinking into real business opportunities.

Mr Patmore will highlight the importance of discussing with the world’s leading academics to learn about their inventions to spot signals of change early.

“To be successful ... a business must provide not only solutions for today but also roadmaps for the future” Mr Patmore had mentioned in one of his past speeches.

Mr Patmore leads BT’s innovative research initiative. This involves a large number of Universities, Institutions and Business Schools. He has lectured at the University of Cambridge four times in the past either at the Pembroke College or Judge Business School.

The speech will take place at the Nihon Room at Pembroke College at 5pm on Wednesday 7 May. It is free for all but places must be booked through Jane Moorman on 01223 332598 or corporate@pem.cam.ac.uk
