How much has President Obama achieved in his first year? Three leading black professionals will be in Cambridge tomorrow to give their opinions on Obama's first year in office and take questions from the audience. The event has been organised by the African Caribbean Society (ACS). It is free and open to the public.

The speakers are Kwame Kwei-Armah, Colin Grant and Afua Hirsch. Kwame Kwei-Armah is an actor, playwright, singer and broadcaster. In 2005 he became the first black Briton with African-Caribbean heritage to have a play staged in the West End with his award-winning Elmina's Kitchen. Colin Grant is a radio producer in the BBC Science Unit. He's also author of a book about activist Marcus Garvey and a number of plays, including The Clinic.

Afua Hirsch is the Guardian's legal affairs correspondent. She has practiced at the bar in criminal defence and public law, and teaches constitutional and human rights law.

Matthew Green, president of ACS and a second-year English student at Wolfson College, said: "We're thrilled to have such a wonderful group of speakers coming to Cambridge for the main ACS event of the term, and we hope to attract an enthusiastic audience keen to ask some challenging questions.”

The event will take place in the Queens Building Lecture Theatre at Emmanuel College on Wednesday 20 January at 6.45 pm. All welcome.
