At 11:00am on Saturday 15 July, staff of the Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences will lead a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum's facilities.

Work experience students Toby Michael and David Middleton packing specimens from the museum displays, ready for conservation and storage during the current ongoing refurbishment project at the museum.

Visitors will be able to find out a bit about the history of the museum, what's been happening in the part of the museum that is currently closed, and have an opportunity to see the mineral gallery.

The tour will also offer a chance to find out more about the plans for redeveloping the museum, to ask questions, and to give feedback to museum staff about what they'd like to see in the new exhibitions.

The tour will last about an hour, and is free. There is no need to book in advance; just turn up on the day - all members of the public and the university are welcome.
