Dr Roy D. Patterson has been awarded the Silver Medal of the Acoustical Society of America for outstanding achievement in acoustics research.

Dr Roy D. Patterson of the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience has been awarded the Silver Medal of the Acoustical Society of America.

It is considered a highly prestigious award in hearing research. The Silver Medal is presented to individuals, without age limitation, for contributions to the advancement of science, engineering, or human welfare through the application of acoustic principles, or through research accomplishments in acoustics.

The award will be presented at the autumn meeting of the society in Jacksonville Florida, 2-6 November 2015.
