For staff

Dr Joanne Martindale has been appointed to the position of Assistant Director for the School of Clinical Medicine at the Research Operations Office.

She takes up her new role on 26 June 2013 and brings with her a wealth of experience in health research – both in industry and academia. She has senior administration and project management experience and joins the Research Operations Office from King’s College London, where she has worked with its clinical departments.

Dr Martindale’s appointment comes at an important time as several external units are transferred into the University. These include the CRUK Cambridge Research Institute, which became part of the University in January this year, followed by MRC’s Metabolic Diseases Unit and Epidemiology Unit in May. Dr Martindale and her team will manage the process that will see these groups become departments in the School of Clinical Medicine, as well as working with established departments to support their research proposals and strategic vision.
