The World of Charlie Higson

Andy Paradise
The comedian talks to The Telegraph about creative gifts, manual labour and knitted zombies.

Charlie Higson, 53, started writing comedy with Paul Whitehouse in the late 1980s, which led to the pair becoming the main writers and performers for the BBC Two sketch show The Fast Show. The programme ran for three series from 1994 to 1997, with a special Last Fast Show Ever in 2000. The cast are currently filming a new series of web-only episodes that will air from November 14. Higson, who has had success as a children’s author with Young Bond, his series of five young-adult spy novels, is writing a zombie-horror series for children; the third book in the series, The Fear, is out now.
